Unstoppable TRUE BLOOD: another Ratings Records

HBO’s True Blood continues to build, as the vampire series sucked in a new series viewership mark on Sunday night.

The Aug. 29 premiere, going up against the Emmys for which the series was nominated in the outstanding drama category, attracted 5.4 million viewers in the 9 p.m. hour. The episode, entitled Fresh Blood, garnered another 1.2 million watchers during its encore at 11:30 p.m., according to Nielsen data.

Excluding that installment, True Blood has averaged a weekly gross audience of 12.6 million viewers this season to date, when linear plays, DVR and HBO On Demand runs are accounted for.

True Blood’s third-season finale, “Evil is Going,” is set for Sept. 12.

Sunday night was also a strong one for Entourage. The Hollywood buddy series, winding down its penultimate campaign, took in a season-high 2.9 million viewers at 10:30 p.m, while lead-in Hung notched 2.5 million.

Season to date the series have accumulated gross audience averages of 7.7 million and 6.7 million, respectively.

Joe Manganiello learns the downside of fame

Joe admits that he has experienced the bad side of his fame as fans have started to stalk him.

“True Blood” rising star Joe Manganiello is quickly learning the downside of fame – he’s stepped up his security measures after experiencing his first “stalker” scare. The actor has catapulted to fame opposite Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer on the hit U.S. vampire series, playing werewolf Alcide Herveaux.

But now he’s extra cautious when he’s out and about – because fans have started to follow him around. He tells Us Magazine, “I’ve had to have my car checked for a tracking device – for a stalker. It’s been a little interesting. You have to take the good with the bad.”

And the actor is trying his best to focus on the good, saying “It has definitely been an overwhelming amount of support. I just can’t believe how much people love my character on the show. And that has just helped me feel great!”

He has no real regard for the consequences of what may happen. It’s really liberating to play a character like that because I would stop at the edge of a cliff and think ‘Whoa’. He’d just jump off.�

On maintaining his private life: “Occasionally I get paparazzi, like this week when I finished yoga, there were 10 waiting outside. But I’m not very newsworthy. I’m still a very private person. I want to leave all the drama in my life on the set. I’m not going to call my publicist from a restaurant and say, ‘I’ll be leaving at 7:57. Make sure there’s a photographer outside.’ Giving my life up like that would be taking a little bit of my soul. I think some people think they’re constantly on show. I don’t want to live like that.�

Season 3 Finale – Cast Spoilers

Yes it’s true! Finally we know what is going to happen on ‘True Blood’ Season Finale. Talking on the Emmy after party Alexander Skarsgård and Sam Trammell said that the season finale will have a lot of bloodshed and a lot of sex. The in true ‘True Blood’ style, the finale will show a lot of important characters getting killed.

Werewolf Joe Manganiello said that the final episode will have a lot of gory scenes where important character will die and he also mentioned something about wasting hundreds of gallons of blood as well. According to Nelsan Ellis, people will get to see a new side to Lafayette on the last episode. Nelsan also said that people are going to like what they find out about LaLa.
Shape shifter Marshall Allman said that he really liked what the creators have done with the season finale and it will be shocking to say the least.

Alexander is hoping that he will live through the season finale and Sam promised that one of the characters will be in ‘Big Trouble’. Summing up it seems that now we are more intrigued about the finale than ever before as it promises to keep as at the edge of our seats.
